Food Truck Pop-Up Dinners

Ever wonder what Food Truck owners do in the often times LENGTHY* off-season?

*You remember last winter, don’t you?

Enter Pop-Up dinners.  Pop-Up restaurants have been, ahem, Popping-Up with increasing regularity about our towns.  Sounds like the owner of Cajun 2 Geaux is going to…. Pop-Up…. starting with an event Oct 8 at the 612 Taproom .   Details in the PiPress link below.

Your thoughts?  Are you interested in such things?  What other trucks would you like to see enter the Pop-Up arena?

Hot Monday = Not a lot of food trucks serving..

It looks like a slow Monday, due to the heat.  Stay cool!

CityPages Top 10 Street Eats

So what do people think about this list?  Vellee 9th?!  Seems quite low to……..  but there are tons off great trucks out there in the cities!  Patronize your favorite Truck this week, and let know where you are going…

Music in Mears + “Underground” Food Truck tonight!

Today, MSPFoodTrucks has your step-by-step guide to Thursday night bliss:

Step 1; Head to Dayton’s Bluff in St. Paul, and saunter* into The Strip Club Meat & Fish for a cold Jamo Toe on tap.  A perfect summer sipper, it’s the only cocktail of it’s kind on tap in the Upper Midwest.  Correct… a cocktail… on draught.  No, really.

*They like it when you saunter at Strip Club.

Step 2; Drive down the hill and hit up Music In Mears , for the Hot Summer Jazzfest Kickoff Show .  Mears is a lovely park in downtown St. Paul, just a driver and a 9 iron away from Strip Club.  You know since… it’s downhill… so a well struck driver goes a bit farther than… anyway.

Step 3;   Chad from Heartland Restaurant will be there grilling sausages.  Sausages that he made.  Sausages that will bring you to your knees, sobbing with joy.  These are some *&%^ing good sausages, friends, you don’t wanna miss these.  MSPFoodTrucks is pretty sure Chad is there every Thursday for Music in Mears, but we know from our inside source at Heartland that he will be there tonight.

Go get some.  And tell him sent ya.

Sushi, from a Truck

Proper sushi, from a truck. Well done Sushi Fix.

St. Paul Monday Food Truck Rally

If you are within shouting distance of St. Paul on this absolutely PERFECT*
Monday, get yourself over to EcoLab plaza for the St. Paul Monday Food
Truck Rally. Every Monday, three of the Twin Cities best food trucks park
on Wabasha and 5th Street in downtown St. Paul.

*Perfect if you like 71 degrees without a cloud in the sky.

The scheduled lineup includes 128 Café, Hola Arepa, and Vellee Deli. But obviously check for any changes!

128 frequents the St. Paul scene often, but Hola and Vellee typically only make
this one appearance in St. Paul per week. And yeah, it’s absolutely worth
skipping that ridiculous 12:00 meeting that annoying co-worker of yours
scheduled to grab some Vellee, owner of several “best of” awards including
CityPages “Best Burrito of 2012”.

So get out from behind your desk, St. Paul office-types. You’ve got a
proper lunch waiting for you on 5th and Wabasha every Monday!

Food Truck Free-for-All this weekend!

Food Truck Fanatics, there are TWO outstanding Food Truck rallies going on this weekend!  So get out of the kitchen, and get outside to a Food Truck.

Friday night, the Beer Dabbler will be at the Twin Cities Pride Festival in Loring Park!  Get the details here;

Then Saturday, Canterbury Park is having the first iteration of this year’s Canterbury Park Food Truck Festival.  Chef Sameh Wadi’s World Street Kitchen truck will be there… along with many other oustanding Trucks.  If you’ve not been to WSK, MSPFoodTrucks advises you to go check it out.  Wadi is about as talented as they get when it comes to foodstuffs, and WSK is kind of his culinary playground.  It’s out of this world, craveable, yummy food. Go get some, and win some $ playin’ the horses.

Food Trucks in White Bear Lake Thursday Night, June 21st!

You may not think a car dealership in White Bear Lake is an ideal Thursday Happy Hour spot… BUT… did you know that this Thursday June 21st you can bring a non-perishable food item for Second Harvest Heartland to White Bear Lake Mitsubishi, and in return sample some Food Truck Fare free of charge, and even get a free car wash!  (Not to mention get a coupon for a 50% off oil change).  Check out all the deets here;

And hey, while you are up north of Hwy 36, you might as well stop by the the Twin Cities best outdoor patio at Acqua Restaurant for a cocktail on the lake, and maybe even another bite to eat.  Yeah, that’s right, best… outdoor… patio… is at Acqua in White Bear Lake.  If you haven’t been… you really must go;

So suddenly, that’s a nice little Thursday you’ve got planned!
